Long time, no update

Sorry for the lack of updates in, I dunno…a long, long time. Anyway, I’ve decided that I want to blog about more than just Savage Worlds stuff. I have a ton of stuff rolling around in this noggin’ of mine and it all doesn’t fit within the concept of Get Savaged! So, in the next week or so I’ll be launching a different all-encompassing blog…stay tuned.

Howdy all, yup I’m back from vacation and unburying myself from the workload that accumulated while I was basking in the sun and imbibing numerous cocktails. As many of your know, I’m a big fan of pulp-inspired gaming. Anyway, I ran across these little gems in my web wanderings and thought it would make a nice adversary to pit against your Savage pulp heroes. Click more for the photos and a savage stat-block.

Scarce postings and vacation notice

For those of you checking in here on a regular basis, just a quick note to let you know I’m on vacation starting next week and won’t return until April 4th. Postings will be scarce up until I leave as I prepare to head out of town (Gotta pay the piper before you leave and when you get back!) and non-existant while I’m gone.

Well, I find myself stuck in a Philadelphia hotel after being delayed by the freak ice storm that hit here yesterday. Luckily I got a hotel room, got a rebooked flight and didn’t have to spend the night sleeping on the floor at the airport with my travel plans up in the air.

So in honor of my predicament I give you an extra inspired by my circumstances.

The Ravaged Earth Society

One of the first things that drew my interest when I came upon the Savage Worlds scene was The Ravaged Earth Society by Double G Press. I’m a huge pulp fan and from what I’ve read about it this setting is right up my alley, but will it ever see the light of day?

See, with much happiness I started gobbling up all the teasers at the Double G website and a 26 page thread at the Pinnacle forums. The more I read the more excited I became to get my hands on this gem. Then I happened to look at the date of some of the early posts at the forums…whoa, April 2005! That’s a long time for development and release; nearly two years worth of teasers to whet our appetites.

It does appear now that they are darn close to getting the PDF out and in our grubby little hands. I for one am sure hoping to see this in the next month or so, let’s keep our fingers crossed for some Savaged pulp goodness.
