Welcome to Get Savaged!, my little slice of the internet that I’m using to ramble on about and support the Savage Worlds roleplaying game. I am a long time d20 gamer that is rapidly approaching 40; like many of my generation, I started roleplaying with the old D&D boxed set and migrated onwards to d20. As work, family, kids and other obligations creep in upon me, I find I have less and less time to devote to the hobby that’s been with me much of my life.

So like many tinkerers I started the long and never finished process of creating my version of the d20 rules that suited what I wanted. Something that didn’t take hours to whip up NPC’s, was light on its feet but still allowed creative customization of characters. Whew, what a chore that was with d20.

I have long had the Savage Worlds PDF on my hard drive but had never given it much more than a once over. On a whim I decided to look at it a little deeper and I found something that except for the die-rolling mechanic fit what I was trying to do with my version of d20. So instead of going any further with my creation, I went with Savage Worlds.

I’m in the infant stages of starting a play-by-post campaign using Savage Worlds and will be posting about that here as well as other Savage Worlds inspired creations and thoughts that I have. You’ll find that I very much suffer from GADD, Gaming Attention Deficit Disorder, when it comes to genres and ideas. Hopefully this site will help me get many of those ideas down on paper and out of my mind.
